Elizabeth Wahyu design for Swarovski's Trend 2006 Asia's Fashion Jewelry and Accessories Fair in Hong Kong, June 18 - 21
Swarovski, the well known company for producing excellent crystals and leader in the market is launching their Trend 2006 at Asia's Fashion Jewelry and Accessories Fair in Hong Kong from June 18 - 21. Designers from Asia's region were invited to contribute their ideas and interpretation of the theme to join the fair. Themes are devided into 5 (five) categories : Direkt, Liquid Sunshine, Acid Candy, Light and Shadow, and Grand Hotel.
Elizabeth Wahyu and Nancy Goh from Bagteria are the ones represent Indonesia in the exhibition.
Inspired from Batik tradition and rich culture of beautiful batik, Elizabeth Wahyu choose "BATIK GLAM" as her theme.
Created were a vest and bangles from all Swarovski's materials : crystals, pearls, chains, and cupfindings.
The colour pallete is representing many colours use in Nyonya's Batik with Chinese influence, strong colours such as paparadcha, balanced with khakis green, light blue and rich yellow gold.
Delicate wire techniques which is Elizabeth's signature is shown in the making of curl motives like Batik's drawing.
The pieces gained interst from many other countries' press, such as Singapore, Malaysia and Phillipines.
